Our President and Chief Executive Officer

Our team of 350 full, part-time and seasonal staff and over 440 volunteers provide the programs and services of The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. Management leadership for our team is through the offices of the Association Services and Vice Presidents and Directors of the various programs and services.

Ms. Bette Watson-Borg, MCE
President and Chief Executive Officer

The Canadian Progress Club Halifax-Cornwallis recognized Ms. Watson-Borg in the Awards category of Health, Sport and Wellness at its 16th Annual Women of Excellence Awards, November 2005. Ms. Watson-Borg was named the first woman President and CEO of The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth in June 2000. Her prime responsibility is the management and leadership of The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth which serves over 50,000 Halifax Regional Municipality citizens. Being a strong believer in Management Development, Ms. Watson-Borg completed a Masters in Continuing Education from the University of Calgary in May 2005.
