"The YMCA is a charity dedicated to the growth of all persons in spirit, mind and body, and to their sense of responsibility to each other and the global community."
South Park YMCA Child Care Centre
Our Centre is for families with children aged 18 months to 5 years old. We are open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm except for Holidays.
The South Park Child Care Centre follows YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. This is a national YMCA curriculum developed by The YMCA of Greater Toronto, that helps children in our care discover learning through creative play and aligns with primary school benchmarks.
YMCA Playing to Learn is built on the principle that children learn through play. Child’s play provides the foundation for language and literacy; for mathematics, science and technology; and for the arts. YMCA Playing to Learn is the resource that teaches YMCA Early Childhood Educators the skills and best practices necessary to prepare spaces that are more conducive to learning and encourage quality learning experiences.
Outdoor/Gross motor opportunities are provided on a daily basis for all age groups. These include playground time, community walks, gym time, swim time (depending on classroom) and planned shared experiences.
