YMCA School Settlement Services

The YMCA has been working in partnership with schools in our community for more than 15 years. Our staff work on site at elementary, junior and senior high schools to provide practical assistance to newcomer youth and their families.

Some of the services we provide include:

Orientation to the School and Community
Home Liaison
Academic Support
Para-professional counseling
Referrals
Advocacy
School Staff Support

These partnerships have been effective in meeting the needs of newcomer youth by having personal input from all members of the school community – youth, parents, teachers, administrators.
