YMOVE - Helping Youth Gain Employment
WHO can use the YMOVE program?
Priority Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 who are unemployed or underemployed and are residents of Halifax, Dartmouth or the outlying areas.HOW can YMOVE help?
YMOVE's employment specialists/coaches will work to provide the necessary guidance and interventions, to help youth achieve success. The coaches will work closely with the youth to explore and develop short and long-term planning, with the ultimate goal of employment.The YMOVE program places a strong emphasis on monitoring and on-going support and will incorporate a variety of interventions, which may include:
Workshops
- Prior Learning Assessments
- Job Shadowing
- Work Placements
- Career/Interest inventories
HOW can I get involved with YMOVE?
Youth may contact the employment specialist directly, or simply call for more information. Community groups and partners may also make referrals to the YMOVE program by connecting with an employment coach. The coaches are located in the YMCA Enterprise Centre of Halifax and Dartmouth as a home base, but are able to meet youth at various locations if required.Location/Contact Information
